Located in the heart of Alabama’s nursery capital, Tom Dodd Nurseries grows premium woody ornamentals, perennials, grasses, and groundcovers, offering product sizes from liners to 30-gallon containers. We proudly serve growers, re-wholesalers, distribution centers, and retail garden centers across the South, Central, and Eastern United States.

Based in Semmes, Alabama, we are a licensed grower for many of the industry’s most trusted brands, including Encore® Azaleas, Endless Summer® Hydrangeas, First Editions®, Garden Debut®, Gardener’s Confidence®, Southern Living® Plant Collection, Proven Winners®, and Star® Roses such as Knock Out® and Drift®.

With more than 100 years of horticultural experience, Tom Dodd Nurseries has expanded to nearly 300 acres, including 33 acres of greenhouses and hundreds of production structures. Strategic growth over the past two decades has strengthened our production capabilities and positioned us for continued innovation. In 2025, we acquired the Van Der Giessen Liner Division, marking an exciting new chapter as we expand into liner sales and further support our customers’ production needs with high-quality, reliable propagation.

Since John Williams Jr. acquired the nursery in 2004, Tom Dodd Nurseries has experienced significant growth, including a 233% increase in sales and continued investment in infrastructure, efficiency, and quality-driven production practices. Our ability to propagate the majority of our material in-house allows us to maintain consistency, control, and dependable supply.
